You need to compare SNR between amps at the same power levels and same weighing filtering. This is why I like to scale all power amps SNR figures down to 1 watt where the amp idles most of the time anyways. I will measure SNR on the new Emo amp like I've done with all other amps. The XPA amps...

I'm with you. I love Vbulletin. But VB4.0 has been plagued with issues since Internet Brands took it over. Their support doesn't seem as good. We were gonna wait for VB5.0 but don't have a lot of confidence in it. Xenforo has some really cool features from our research, including SEO...

    EMP E41-B for $209

I asked RBH to start shipping these with port plugs since most people use them on a desktop close to a back wall. The black ring near the phase plug is an improvement to reduce turbulence from the air gap of the phase plug. RBH's $50k/pair Status 8T's also do this with their Beryllium phase...

    Request for pro amp reviews

Guys I love this thread! You have me intrigued not only to start reviewing some of the budget pro amps but to do a listening comparison and tech article to try to understand why they sound different. As soon as I am done with the Status Titus 8T, Pass Labs, Classe and Emotiva amp reviews, I...

I have Sweet speakers but can't use them! help a brotha out

If you only have 4 speakers, you should plug two of them to the Main front channels and two of them to the surround channels of your receiver. Then turn off the center and surround back channels. Calibrate the 4 speakers using the internal test tones and an SPL meter. You can run 4CH stereo...

This is the last post I will make on this issue. START A THREAD Discussing Pro vs Consumer amps. I briefed over the links you just sent on the Behringer and Bryston amps. They don't measure SNR from what I see but based on what they show I'd bet the Bryston has a better noise floor than the...

I'm getting really tired of this thread being derailed as well as the general negativity towards Emotiva for launching a new series of amplifiers. If you want to start a thread comparing pro vs consumer amps please do so but I'd like this thread to be steered back on course. As a moderator...

It's not snobbery, its understanding and using equipment what its meant for. Designing an amp for sound reinforcement is much different than consumer audio. I have listened to and measured many pro amps in the past including those from Crown. They are fine amps for pro audio, they are light...

I drive 6 channels simultaneously when having party's around my home. at least 4 of the channels have two 8 ohm speakers wired in parallel so each module is seeing a 4 ohm load impedance. I am driving 10 pairs of speakers off of 6 channels. The volume depends on how liquored up we are :D My...

I would say these amps mentioned above last at least 15-20+ years, would the Emotiva last this long? Let's see, I have had my Emotiva MPS-1 for over 10 years with no issues. People are forgetting that Jade has manufacturers amps for more brands than Emotiva, some very high end brands I...

Hmm ugly cosmetics, power ratings only at 1kHz. Many Class D amps have issues powering 4 ohm speakers fullbandwidth. High distortion, Terrible SNR figures which are claimed at full rated power. Where do I sign up? This may be great for portable PA as they are claiming its purpose...

Very good points but Emo is planning a mono block version of this amp and I am strongly considering using it in the long term to run these new speakers. I wish EMO would come up with analog VU meters for these babies. I'm not a big fan of the blinking LEDs, but I am sure some folks dig em.

It's more about dynamic load delivery than sustained power. You can still get tons of headroom out of an amp like this on a conventional 15 amp circuit.
