No oddly they sent us the active speakers with a sub. I would have preferred the passive speakers but it is what it is.

That's awesome. I didn't quite feel that with the SS8s but i really enjoyed the little prototype bookshelf speakers Jim brought. We will one day have to formally review a pair of the SS8s and give them a second, closer look.

Yes this should be a fun review and comparison. Not sure about the ratings of the diff amps. Sometimes things are speced differently to inflate power output #s. I test out to the limit of my test gear which is 80Khz but I don't power sweep amps (especially Class D) passed 20kHz.

Not all ID manufacturers. Only a select few are truly giving you better performance per dollar than the B&M competitors. This can clearly be seen in our tabulated reports and reviews.

Yes I will be conducting the review and testing of this amp with the very same reference gear, speakers, test loads, etc. I also still have the XPR-1's as my reference amp.

Assuming your referring to the Emotiva XPR-1 as being overpriced, I think you are greatly mistaken. A monoblock of this caliber would easily sell for $5k if it wasn't sold direct and had a fancier nameplate.

That's what SVS is for. The SB-1000 or preferably the SB-2000 which will get you fairly close to the e110's performance for less money.

Erin, Ironically these subs are still more affordable than some of the ID brands and for there size nothing can touch them. JL Audio is upgrading my dual f110s in our family room system for dual e112s. I can't wait to experience the difference and I will definitely write it up.
