    Genesis Reunion

Personally I think if they do remaster the Lamb in SACD, they need to do away with some of the cheesy sound effects in some of the songs. While this is a great album, it could use some updating. The problem with most progressive rock in the 70's is they relied too much of keyboard sounds and...

Home Theater Cruise - Day One

Correct, which is why its usually better to run all speakers through bass management, and using up to 4 subs in a room to handle anything below 80Hz. This isn't new and has been touted by Toole and THX for years. Sadly, many recording engineers and a particular editor of a print magazine don't...

Home Theater Cruise - Day One

Extreme frequency response rolloff and increased distortion at high power levels much like you see in subs, but only worse. You rarely see loudspeaker manufacturers disclose frequency response charts at various power levels. As for sound, you can hear disproportionate and non linear bass...

    RBH vs Klipsch

You really can't make a fair comparison between the Klipsch vs RBH. They are an entirely different animal despite them both being excellent performers. The Klipsch are ultra efficient and play loud, but are conversely not in the same league musically as the RBH's. The RBH's are more open...

He really didn't fit in. IMO, Genesis could not exist without Phil, not just b/c of his excellent drumming, but b/c he works extremely well with Mike/Tony and also keeps them in check. Personally I don't care for Tony's solo stuff at all despite him being a competent keyboard player. If you...

Wow where did you hear this? Can you please list a link? I can't see how this is possible, especially since Gabriel is releasing a new album and touring?

    XM Radio Sound Quality Issues?

Unfortunately most of my DTS CD's are in storage until I move into my new home next month. I do have a handful of DVD-A discs that are working just fine. I hope it isn't true b/c I have alot of DTS CD's that would be great to use in the car. I will let you know.

    XM Radio Sound Quality Issues?

The XM issue I am hearing is not an issue of EQ'ing. Its digital artifacting due to over compression. Its really bad and now that I clearly hear it, I can't bare to listen to XM anymore.

    XM Radio Sound Quality Issues?

My car has a pretty decent audio system which is part of the 5.1 DVD-A surround package from Elliot Scheiner and Panasonic. It sounds great with DVD-A, CD and even FM radio but very disappointing with XM radio. I will likely be letting my subscription run out. I never really paid much...

    Genesis Reunion

Yes but note how great the drums were when Collins stepped up during instrumentals to supplement Chester. Bill Bruford was only on one song which I think was Firth or Fifth. I have little respect left for Bill since his drumming after the early 80's leaves much to be desired and I heard he has...

Actually he doesn't do that on the studio album but does on the live version. I agree I hate when he improvises lyrics like that and becomes repetitively annoying. Probably my all time favorite album of theirs is Seconds Out which IMO is when they peaked musically. Nobody in rock put on a...

I think you are right since he tried to dissociate with their older -Gabriel era- stuff once his solo career took off.

    XM Radio Sound Quality Issues?

I have been an avid XM user for the past few months since it came standard in my Acura TL. However, I have noticed voices sound very metallic at times which I suspect is an issue of excessive compression. Any other XM users out there have similar experiences?

haha LOL. Its a sad reality though they wouldn't sweat dropping $15K on a plasma display to hook up to their compressed cable signal.

Actually I still the We Cant Dance CD is excellent. No Son of Mine, Driving the Last Spike, Living Forever, Fading Lights (especially live) are awesome IMO. Though that CD does lack the fundemental Genesis sound from the late 70s.
