emp's hooked up and sound great !!!

normally I would agree. But since both the towers and subs lack a bit of extension, they tend to help each other out. Try it both ways and see which you prefer. I installed your very system for my sister in law in a large room and full range was the way to go.

The Infinity P363's are actually 4 ohm speakers. Check out review. The way Harman specs impedance on these speakers is pretty loose. Infinity Primus P363 Floorstanding Loudspeaker Review | Audioholics

emp's hooked up and sound great !!!

Beautiful installation, great job! I suggest running the E55's fullrange and setting the sub channel XOVER to 80Hz. This will give you lots of bass punch. Don't worry about overdriving the E55s with bass as they are mechanically limited not to bottom out.

I will try to find the time to read this after XMAS. However, there is a difference between RF ingress and amplifier oscillation. This seems to be the case of a not so well designed amplifier oscillating b/c of improper feedback and/or bandwidth limiting, bad shielding, etc.

I don't have time to go through all of these links. Which one in particular? I opened one link and it was all PSPICE simulations, no real world measurements or test data???

I just don't see this being an issue on any well designed, bandwidth limited amplifier that has a zobel network on the output stage. Also if the speaker cable is terminated it's even of less of a concern. Now if your dealing with a high gain mic preamp that can be an issue with stability if...

I doubt it but if the book states TL is not an issue then I stand corrected. No bloodbath here just facts. Your math is wrong using the speed of sound. Most consumers don't have even a basic grasp of EE hence why wild eye pseudo science thrives in this industry.

OK now this just makes me question the credibility of the whole book based on this very topic. The author doesn't recognize that TL effects of speaker cables are negligible and completely swamped out by insertion loss effects of resistance far before the cable lengths become long enough to be of...

Well that's a matter of perspective since I consider any type of electrical interference to be RFI or EMI related. AM is more susceptible to noise than FM because noise affects amplitude which is where the audio signal is stored in an AM signal.

Thanks, I've never seen this. However all of my telcom work of the past has been with twister pair wiring. Personally I've NEVER seen or measured an RFI problem with speaker cables or audio amplifiers especially if everything is designed properly with a solid grounding scheme. I don't operate...

I don't know who Bob Cordell is but what I said is correct. A low impedance termination will nuke the RFI pickup at audio frequencies through a speaker cable. I've never seen RF ingress into an output stage of an amplifier happen in real life nor is it even something I've read about in classic...

LOL the only way a speaker cable can act as an antenna is if its unterminated. My wife actually heard music from our bedroom speakers when I was listening to music in my upstairs home theater system when I first was installing everything. It turned out that I didn't yet connect the speaker...
