If its the older PB-1000, yes, the M-12 will be a substantial upgrade. The newer PB-1000 Pro is a bit step up from the old PB-1000, so if you are looking to upgrade from the Pro, the M-12 will not be as big of an upgrade, but it would still offer a performance improvement.
