What do you all think of acoustic waveguide technology?

And then there are these:http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHB2030P Same concept, a lot less money!

What do you all think of acoustic waveguide technology?

It doesn't seem like there is much to be said about it theoretically. The only way to know if it is effective or not is to listen to some speakers that use it, and see how they sound.

    Definitive Tech Speaker Owner's Thread

What is the source of your confusion? You may well disagree with his conclusion, but there is nothing confusing about the way he stated it.

Personally, I cannot stand the sound of Klipsch. Some people do like them, though. As with anything, you really must listen before buying.

Assuming equal quailty of drivers in speakers

I would also have mentioned crossovers, but I though that that was included under the heading of "assuming equal quality...". (I tend to think of drivers and crossovers as one inseparable entity.)

I suppose that that is possible (with regard to comments about bass.) Certainly, I have never had any speakers such an extreme distance out into the room before.

Assuming equal quailty of drivers in speakers

Probably the way that the bass is reinforced. Sealed, ported, passive radiator, open baffle, transmission-line, etc. all have different characteristics (and, of course, any given design can be implemented with varying degrees of success.) Another major factor would be cabinet resonance (or lack...

    Definitive Tech Speaker Owner's Thread

I have my BP8Bs back out in the stereo room again. This time, I have managed to get them to sound fantastic! The key was to pull them far enough away from the walls. I have resisted this before because it reduces the distance between the speakers, which I (mistakenly, as it turns out) thought of...

Where's all the Country people at in this place?

I can honestly say that that was every bit as god as 99% of the country lyrics I have heard!:D

Little green chicklets and saying thanks

The chicklets should be democratic, in the sense that they should represent a "typical" or "average" assessment of the recipients posts. It should not be possible for a person with 175 thanks to be in the red because of one person's personal vendetta, and such a vendetta seems like valid grounds...

Where's all the Country people at in this place?

I enjoy listening to Calexico, Iron & Wine, and Drive By Truckers. By no stretch of the imagination, however, would I call any of them "country".

Where's all the Country people at in this place?

I would certainly not call myself a country fan, but there are a few that I like. I love Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, and Jim Stafford. Kenny Rogers has some good songs, as does Garth Brooks. When he sticks to instrumentals, Ricky Skaggs is great.

    Speaker Recommendation ~$200

Those are great speakers and a great deal. Make sure your room is big enough for them, though! (I have the 250s, and they sound excellent with most material, but can become boomy with bass-heavy material in my 12'X20' room.)

Athena made great bang/buck speakers until Klipsch shut them down!

    Speaker Recommendation ~$200

These are simply stunning for the price:http://www.wildwestelectronics.net/cambridge-audio-s30-speaker.html In fact, if I had it to do over again, I would have four of these and a sub in my HT instead of my big Def Techs.
