+1 for the ATi Amp, Although all the amps you listed are good choices. You may get Some suggestions for Class D amps. I myself don't care much for Class D amps. Some like Class D amps a lot, To each their own though.

Those DCA Series amps don't have a Class D output configuration. The DCA 1222 and the 1622 operate as Class AB, whereas the more powerful amps have a 2-tier Class H output circuitry. Some if not all of these amps were released in 1998 and their circuitry was never modified just as proof of good...

One point some people make is that class-D amps cannot handle 2-ohms and 1-ohm. It doesn’t matter to most of us because our speakers are usually 4-8 ohms. But what do you think?

@PENG, not knocking Class D amps, many use them in their setups, very happy with the results. Funny you mentioned how easy Class D Amps are for placement, plus weight a lot less. I dropped a class A/B, 5 channel Amp on my right hand few years back, stayed swollen for almost a month.

No idea why they did it. Class H amps have had avery checkered history. Not that class D have been smooth going in years past. However, class D amps seem to be at a point where they are reliable.

My SuperCube 8000 has a class HD (not sure what that is exactly but it has an "H" so..) and it's been used nearly every day since I bought it in 2013 and have not had a single issue other than the auto on is not very sensitive.

I will only use $5,000 Class A/B Amps that weigh 100-Pounds for all my subwoofers. :cool:

Def Tech's smaller 8" & 10" models the DN8 & DN10 employ Class D & for whatever reason they went for the less efficient Class H for their larger DN12 & DN15 models, the logic for the switch to Class H was mentioned in this overview/review of the Descend subwoofer series here...

I believe Rythmik also use Class H amps in some of their models that have 600W RMS but the top end HX series are (Hypex module) based with either 800W/900W RMS but I suppose that isn't a very good comparison as Rythmik utilise their highly regarded direct servo-based amp technology compared to...

I run my AVM70 with ATI Class D and Parasound, I can't tell the difference sonically and the ATI is dead quiet and does not get very hot. Doesn't matter which you use.

You have some Serious wattage there! How'd you Integrated those into your system? I mean 1/4 jacks, what did you use or ran for speaker cables? I went back and took a longer look at those amps. Yeah I only saw two of those and they were in a theater. Brother of mine worked as a projectionist.

...While the usual warranty covers a certain length of time because "They either go immediately, or last forever", it would seem that the manufacturers of ClassD amplifiers aren't so confident in the 'last forever' idea. Bryston has offered a 20 year warranty for a long time but they aren't Class D.

Class D seems to be the future. I am hoping Yamaha will also go class D and make a new 16CH class D amp to match their new 16Ch AVP. I know you want some Yamaha's. So don't lie. ;) :D

What power to weight ratio is meaningful may depend on a lot of things but class d is just not comparable that way generally..
