I've also run into something similar in my media room. Redirecting or sealing off the vent helped a bit, but the air noise was still annoying. I ended up calling https://emersonproservices.com/carrollton/ to modify the ductwork—made a big difference. They added a lined flex and moved the vent location slightly, which helped reduce both noise and airflow straight into the room.
