Micca MB42X Bookshelf Speakers might be as good as the Pioneer SP-BS22-LR or better?

One day I'll get those Cambridge S30's you have had me intrigued since I've been here. Do they have a center as well?
Hey if you're interested in getting a pair of used speakers and doing a little modding, then perhaps you can find a cheap pair of Polk Rti28's. Throw in a little Dennis Murphy crossover magic and voila.\

I'm afraid you'll have to buy them used--they've been discontinued, and neither Amazon nor Crutchfield has any left. But if you can fine a pair, they're definitely a step up from the Pioneers.

Oh no Z what are you doing to me? sigh...How Is the center? Any good?
I am not really interested in their center - I would get another pair of the S30 and
use one as a center channel.

However, I have heard no major complaints about their center - so, if one is limited in
placement options, then it is worth the risk at the closeout price.

That's not really a super low price for the S30s. It's only about $20 less than they used to sell for, but that was already a good price :)
I paid $219 a pair, for the 2 pair that I bought - $179 is still a good deal.

As with most speakers, there will be some who might not prefer their sound.

Edit - correction, it was $219 instead of $229

I think $219 was their normal price, but AA and a few other places used to put them on sale a few times a year for $199.

I remember Amazon had them for $219 as well. If these go even lower than $179 I'll have to get them. They will be my Carnegie's. :p

Those Oak S70s look like a decent deal too at $129 ea. They look better in black IMO, but they want $40/ea. more for the black. If they were a little less...
