Hi everybody !

I recently installed a Projector (Epson 5020UBe wifi) with a 65 x 116 screen in my new living room. I actually use it with an old Philips 2.1 system that was lost in my parent's living, very bad quality one contrary to the projector. I use it with my PS3 (soon PS4 and a zappiti player for Mkv files and stuff)

I'm seriously thinking of investing in a new 1000-1500$ system that will last for many years even if i came to change the projector (or the flat). As you can see in the pictures, my living has the following specs :

Width of the wall where the screen is set up (same as wall where the projector is set up) : 4,50 m
Length : 6m, so the viewing distance is approx. 5m
There is 1m between the wall (projector fixed) and the main seat (3 persons)

With that configuration, what kind of setup could i choose ? 5.1 or 7.1 ? With a 7.1 i'm afraid the space between the rear wall and the seat is too small. If i chose on-wall speakers, for the Surround left and right, where should i set up them to respect the 90-110° angle if possible ?

As for the wireless speakers, useful ? no loss of quality ?

Thanks in advance for your advices !

Nicholas

Going under your budget, I really dont think you can go wrong with the tried and true Energy Take Classics.
Energy 5.1
and a low profile receiver from Marantz will fit well in the room and sound great.
Marantz 1403
Both of those bring you to under 800 dollars before tax and will be a huge improvement over the 2.1 phillips
If you want a more connected receiver and dont mind the size the sony dn840 has been well received this year and its on sale right now... shoot i may have to pick one up for myself.
Sony receiver
Those are just some cheaper options for you to check out...

For $1500 look into a denon avr from accessoriesforless.com 1613 for around $200, then an HSU vtf2 sub woofer $600, a pair of fluance bipole surrounds $120, and then for your fronts 3 ascend acoustic cbm170's...

Looking at his furniture and room, looks like outside, perhaps Europe near a port of entry with all those large cranes in the window.

Plus the Barca flag draped over the couch and the username of "tiesto" and all signs point to European.

Hi !

Thanks for your answer, in fact i live in Senegal but i am french speaking ;)

Here is my living map, do you think i could go for a 7.1 system or useless and instead opt for a 5.1 with bipolar surrounds ?

As for the budget, i'll move to 1500-2500 $ finally... which speaker brands are very good for that level and above in your opinion ?

Thanks a lot !

I would put your budget into a 5.1 system, instead of 7.1, and bipolar surrounds aren't even necessary. Just get direct radiating speakers or whichever is less expensive for the surrounds.
