Which receiver has multiple hdmi passthrough

Hey guys

I just bought the denon x4000 and was disappointed to find out it didn't have independent hdmi pass through options for each of its sources, I basically have to turn the receiver on, select the device and then turn it off every time I want to play the ps3, xbox or watch my cable box. This was in fact the main motive behind a receiver because my tv only has two hdmi inputs.

So I'm looking for a new receiver - anybody know of a receiver that offers this feature? It's not just hdmi pass through, it's hdmi pass through for multiple sources.

I have never seen one that passes through all of the input sources and with the way HDMI works it may not even be possible.

I'm also not aware of any receivers that do that, but maybe some do. There are products that will do that, such as this 3X1 HDMI Switch, but they can only passively toggle between inputs if only one source is powered. You could snag one of those for about $10, and it might fit your needs well.

I agree that would be a great feature, especially for those who invested heavily in a higher end unit and is still forced to turn the unit on and off or leave it on when there is no good reason to age such high cost units. It should be possible but could be costly to achieve.

Not even my $7500 Denon AVP-A1 can do that. I have to turn on the AVP, select the source, then turn off the AVP.

I am not sure what is required, but the Yamaha Aventage A820 switched HDMI inputs when in standby.
You can use the remote to select different input without powering on the AVR.

That would be nice enough for me but I wish Yamaha offers Audyssey.

Wow...ya dont say? Well that certainly helps me deal with the buyers remorse I felt after discovering this. The minute I discovered this I instantly thought "Damn...Im sure the higher end models have it! " LOL

You could be right man! Sheesh, I never thought it could've been a costly feature...You really do learn something new everyday

And since we were informed that uber high end Denon pre-pro seperate doesn't have it I guess it just doesn't exist...at all. Wheww...buyers remorse GONE!

Now if I can figure out to operate the video processor functions ill be a happy boy

If the source switching were analog, it would be possible. But since it is digital, it is not.

Pros and cons. :D
