I'm just curious, especially from fellow Canadian who used the service.

I have a few years ago. The price was much cheaper than local. But now my local shops have the same price.

I've been buying tires from them for almost 10 years. US though, but zero issues with them. Bought two sets in the last 3 months and got a rebate on the current set. I have them shipped directly to my buddy's shop and he installs them. He can hit some of their prices, but not when they have something on sale or closeout.

Psbfan9 where do you live? I lived in St. Joseph, MI for 5 years and wife is from South Bend.

As to Tire Rack I have bought 3 sets of tires from them. 2 sets while I lived just 30 miles north of their facility and had them installed at their facility. They hand torque the lug nuts, don't see that anymore. Also bought one set last fall after I moved to the St. Louis area and had them drop shipped to a Tire Rack recommended installer for installation and saved close to $100. Highly impressed with them and never have had any problems. I recommend them to anyone who asks me about tires.

You can get some sick deals on tires on amazon, then free 2 day shipping for prime members!!! I bought a set of 4 205/55/r16's goodyear eagles for $188 shipped!!! I mount my own tires and balance them and use nitrogen to fill them {never have to adjust air pressure with nitrogen and I have tanks all over the place from the business}... I started using the balancing beads they work very well, I wasn't a beliiver for a while until my cousin but beads in his jeep tires, before he couldnt go 40mph on the high way and that was after bancing the tires with a machine {huge tire, its the nature of the beast, its an off road jeep, you wouldn't take on the h-way anyway... After he added the beads, he can do 75-80 no issues!!! I was amazed, bought the kit the next day, and they seem really nice, its been a while no issues..

Will be back up in your area next weekend for the ND - USC game. Can't beat a day at the lake and beer in a schooner at Silver Beach Pizza.

I didn't realize that Amazon sold tires - cool!

I've used Tirerack a few times, and I've been happy every time. I just had them ship the tires to my dealer who then installed them.

I have been buying my car and truck project tires for a half-dozen years or so from them.

And all my motorcycle tires from Amazon.

Amazon doesn't sell tires to my knowledge, their web site acts as a listing agent for other retailers, as they do with so many products.

The Tire Rack is a class act. I would guess that over the years I've bought over twenty sets of tires from them, not to mention wheels, brake parts and some miscellaneous stuff. I've never had a bad experience with them.

Amazon does sell tires. They don't have the selection of Tire Rack or Discount Tire though.

You're correct, I just checked and they do sell some tires. My previous searches with them have been on high performance tires, and those are typically from outside vendors.

Nearly all of their parts are from outside vendors or Amazon storefronts that those stores have on there. Some may be "fulfilled by Amazon" but I don't think Amazon is in the tire/car part business.

No Canucks going to Tirerack.com? Hmmm...

Here's the quote including shipping to Ogdensburg NY. If the tires are manufactured in the US, all I'll end up having to pay is GST...

I prefer Kuhmo tires so I have to use Tire Rack. Kuhmo is the cheapest tire you can put on most sports cars, but I have a normal sedan so they work great on it.
