Hi guys

I was having a little bit of buyers remorse. I am currently running a pioneer vsx 40 using optical(open box from bestbuy $80), a set of pioneer bs 21 lr (already had those). I picked up an open box sunfire sds 10 that was around 236 with shipping. It plays good however I'm wondering if I would be better off returning the sub and getting an sb-1000(I've had my on svs subs for along time). Now my room is only 7'11" x 10'8". I would probably use this sub as well at home (currently using a polk 440wi). I like to listen to rock, metal, and some rap. I'm also a pc gamer, but it would mostly be used for music.

Just curious if for the price I would be better off keeping the sunfire or moving up to a svs sb1000(unless of course you think I can do even better for the money).

thank you

They are both overkill for that room. Not having heard them, I would think I would prefer the SVS myself because, being sealed, it won't have the deep bass extention but should be smoother and therefor better suited for music. But if HT is your goal, then your current sub should be great since, with the passive radiator, it probably has more mid/deep bass "slam". How well does it match up to your mains?

Hey no problem(I hate when people thread hijack as well). It seems to match up pretty well with the mains, I have to adjust the phase more. However room setup is not optimal(it is just to small and too crowded). Also so this sub would probably replace my sub at home (setup at home is martanz sr6006, bowers wilkins 686, bowers wilkins htm62, and polk audio 440wi, room setup is not optimal as well either) room size is 11.7 ft length by 10.4 ft.

thanks

The phase should be a one-time adjustment.

Either one is a lotta sub for that tiny room. Kinda reminds me of this:
