hk avr buzzing from front channels

I have an older hk avr-330 ,its been working fine since it was new but last week the two front channel started making a buzzing sound from them .everything else is ok. any help would be great thanks.

Unless you have a grounding issue or hooked up some new equipment to it (cable STB?) directly to the HK AVR recently, which could possibly introduce the buzzing sound, I'd say it's time to dip in the kids college fund to get a new AVR. :p

Just to eliminate the speakers themselves, do you have a known good spare pair to test with?

Hate to say it but when my buddy had the same problem with his AVR230, he had to replace it.

sure its not a grounding issue ,all other channels work fine except the two fronts.

Disconnect the clean 2 rears and replace the 2 mains with them and test. If the buzzing is still there, it's safe to say it's the AVR.

Does it sound like a 60Hz hum?

Failed filter caps on the power supply?

yep i think thats it a 60Hz hum took cover off to take a look and i noticed a 2200 uf 25 v cap that was bulged on top on the heat sink by the power supply ,going to replace it and see thanks moe

Well, a bulging cap is usually a bad sign.

At this point, it sounds like you aint got much to lose. Be careful, caps can hold a charge for a long time and give a painful zap!

Please report back on the issue to let us all know how it turned out.
