AVR DSP and HT bypass

Hi,

Just wanted to ask, if you switch all DSP modes off in an AVR so that it is direct, then would there still be any merit in buying an integrated amplifier with a HT bypass mode, or the direct setting in an AVR be essentially the same thing as the AVR would not be negatively impacting on the sound?

No reason at all to buy an IA w/ HT bypass. Direct mode is as "analog" & pure as it gets.
