That's not as bad as I thought, is that just this year or just current players?
I read an article once where they compared the NFL arrests against the general population. As a percentage basis of their representative population, meaning NFL arrests against the number of NFL players - general arrests vs total population, the NFL had a lower percentage than the general population. But because they are high profile people, they are mentioned in the news making us well aware of them. It does look ugly especially since we all look at them and ask "how could you be so stupid as to throw away your career and all that money?"
They also compared some other sports and I think the NBA had higher than the general population rates.
Yes, we look at them and say how could you be so stupid. But then, these guys have always been coddled and they are human and just as prone to stupid decisions as the rest of us. We all have one of "those relatives" that just can't seem to make good choices. Throw extra money and fame into the mix with hot women all wanting a piece of you...
As Ted Nugent said..."I didn't get into music for the girls...but I adapted."
