Hi, I am brand new to the forum. I am building my surround system and have purchased two in wall M&K S-95 speakers for the front and two M&K bookshelf speakers for the rear surround. I also have an M&K 350 sub. I am looking to find an in wall center channel and a receiver to power all this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would like to do this right the first time!

Are there any special features you're looking for in a receiver? What price range for the receiver?

For the receiver I want to make sure it can handle the 4 ohm speakers and really do not want spend over $800 for a receiver. But my question is should I get a processor and 5 channel amp and be better off? I have heard some of the receivers may be just as good an option.

With a budget of $800, you'd be much better off with a receiver IMO. A Marantz 6007/5008 (if you're willing to stretch the budget a touch), Denon AVR-X2000, Onkyo 818, Yamaha RXA830, or any model from last years lineup of those brands would work just fine.

Thanks for the info. What do you suggest for a center channel? I want to make sure it is timbre matched to the others don't you think?

Unless you buy or can find another M&K speaker to use as the center nothing will be a perfect timbre match. Are you in the US and what kind of budget are you thinking of for the center?

I would go with either MARANTZ SR5005 100w X 7ch 3-D Home Theater Surround Receiver | Accessories4less or YAMAHA HTR-7065 like RX-V773 RX-A820 7.1 665w A/V Receiver AirPlay | Accessories4less and then add an XPA3 or 3 Outlaw 2200's, next time its time to buy something for your system... for the center, I would buy the match to your fronts, anything else is going to cause problems...
Also used amps are easy to find, used xpa3's are on ebay all the time, also rotels, and adcom gfa5503s are on ebay for under $400 all the time..

And welcome..
