I have recently purchased a pyle p2001at preamp offline and once i got i realized that it was not what i thought i was getting. I know that i would be getting a fraction of the 2000 watts it is rated but i thought it would still be able to power my speakers i also bought.

I bought 4 dual illuminte speakers rated at 50RMS at 4 Ohms. The pyle preamp has four speaker outputs on the back of it labeled only with a range of of impedance, 4-16 ohms for each speaker output.

If i connect my dual speakers to the speaker output on the back will this preamp have enough wattage to power them? I plan on using these speakers in my dorm so they would be playing at fairly loud levels for a good amount of time.

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks

You're hooking up 4 ohm speakers to it? Each at 4 ohm? You're most likely showing the amp a 2ohm load and I'm surprised you haven't killed the amp yet.

It says it can do 2ohm, but that's fishy, just as it says 2000 watts :D

I guess Pyle is notorious with mislabling and misleading customers. I knew I wouldnt be getting anywhere close to 2000 watts. But the issue I'm having is the the four speaker outputs are only labeled with an impedance that ranges from 4-16 ohms and has no label for wattage at each output. I just want to find out if this amp can power my speaker with 50 watts at each terminal.
