Any advice is appreciated!!! I have an Marantz sr6005 connected to cable box, blu ray player, xbox, etc. The tv plays fine, when playing games it is fine and when connected to the internet, it is fine but when I try to play any disc in the blu ray player whether blu ray or just dvd, the picture drops out like it is losing its signal from the player. It comes back on right away and sometimes the picture never goes black but is distorted for only a second. I have changed the hdmi cable, Connected a new blu ray player and it still does the same thing. So now I think it is the receiver. I removed the hdmi out of the appropriate port and placed it in two others and it still does the same thing. Surely everyone of my kids dvd's are not damaged. The other ports I put it in was the one for vcr, bd, and aux. It made no difference. I'm lost! Please help if you can.

Did you plug your bluray player directly to the TV? To see if it worked fine?

Well so far it is working ok. No picture issues at all and I used one of the disc that this was happening with. So now it looks to be the receiver. Since plugging the blu ray into the various ports at the back and it does not work on any of them, looks like I will be shipping this unit off. Any other thing to check on the sr6005 before sending off? Thank you again.

Hi. Are your TV and player both HDCP compatible? If not, then video over HDMI from the Marantz won't operate correctly.

If you aren't sure how to look that up, just let us know the model numbers.

You can also try changing the setting for the "HDMI Control" function on the Marantz (see page 42 of your owner's manual). A long shot, but sometimes that can mess with things.

It has worked for a little over 2 years this way. TV is a Samsung model PN64D8000 and Blu-Ray is a Panasonic model DMP-BD80. All firmware has been updated as needed.

I see on page 92 about resetting the microprocessor. Any help you think?

It might not help, but if you're going to send it in for repair if it doesn't, it sure won't hurt. :) You'll almost surely have to redo all of your settings after you get it back, anyway.
