Litght weight "Soudnsgood" Inegrated Amp

Hi All,

Was wondering if anybody could recommend a decent lightweight basic integrated amp/preamp? I'm a veteran of spending too much money for home theater (thousands and thousands...shed tear here!) amp and pre amp that were great in their heyday b The company has since gone out of bizz and nobody can repair the amp and pre amp. I still own some nice speakers B & W Nautilus speakers with a Rell sub. I'm driving them with an inferior integrated amp. I'd like to buy a something in the 1500.00 -2,000 range to drive these speakers and I would like something integrated and lightweight. Any suggestions??? trying to sell my house and need something to show off the media/ home theater room.

Marantz sr7005 is pretty good. Not really light though. If you would consider separates you could try this. Marantz AV7005 Networking AV Preamp/Processor | Accessories4less and this Marantz MM7055 5 Channel Power Amplifier | Accessories4less I bought my pro from this company.

NAD, another British company, puts out some pretty fine integrated amps that can pump out the watts your speakers will appreciate.

How about the Bel Canto C5i, 60W 8 ohms, 120W 4 ohms, being class D it weighs only 13 lbs.

Or look into Rotel's RA-1570, 120W, 28.7 lbs, heavier because it is class AB.

If you need more power then weight will increase unless you go with separates that are class D, such as those from Rotel or Bel Canto.

I have to agree with markw, NAD puts out some very fine, musical integrated amps.

I concur with the NAD suggestion, although with the budget and the big B&W speakers, the NAD C375BEE with 150 wpc would do fine. Another suggestion would be the Anthem 225.
