My HT Room (Incomplete)

Hey guys. I want to preface this with the fact that the room is "almost" complete. There are a few things that need to be worked out and you'll notice them from the pics. Hope you guys like. Sorry for the poor picture quality. Phones just aren't that great for this stuff.

So here goes.

This is a pic of the uncarpeted riser. I have a gap between the bottom 2x12 and the top 2x8 just because the top part was completed when the room was arranged differently. Total height is 21" with each step being 7" high.

This is a view of the projector itself. I have basically use shelf brackets and plywood to get as close to a flush mount as possible. Ghetto I am aware, but I have yet to find an alternative. Suggestions welcome.

The closet where all the gear resides.
Gear list:
PS3, Crown XLS1500, Monster rackmount "power center", HTPC, Onkyo TX-NR809, and a impedance averaging speaker switch for the two rows of surrounds. As you can see I need a rack. The riser was extended into the closet so when I build my rack I can easily roll it out.

My "helper" and some remotes.

This is a view of behind the AT screen where the three Pioneer SP-FS52-LR reside.

This is a pic of one of the unfinished 1262w's. I plan to add another layer of MDF and roundover the edges and paint them matt black.

This is a view of the two rows of surrounds. Audyssey did a pretty good job of getting everything right. I need to replace the impedance averaging switch with an actual amp. On the to-do list.

This is the DIY AT screen. Constructed out of poplar, velvet, a silver spandex, and black spandex behind to reduce light leakage.

This is pretty dark, but those are my two rows of couches.

Last is a pic of my HTPC front end (SageTV).

The room has been great. It is apparent I am no pro installer, but I built everything myself that I could to keep cost down.

Next on the list is some sub-dude's to decouple them so they stop rattling all the "artwork", an amp for the second set of surrounds, a rack, carpet for the riser (sitting in my garage), 3 pairs of Pioneer SP-BS22-LR to replace the current surround and back speakers, new layer of MDF and paint on the subs, upgraded drivers for the sub, a second XLS1500, and a fan for the closet to vent into my attic (suggestions welcome).

Looks great. Excellent job all around. My only question is about the front 3 speakers. Do you have the ports plugged, and if not, you haven't noticed any detriments to having them flush up against the wall? I only ask because they're rear ported and rear ported speakers usually need some space.

Thanks. I agree, one of my faves as well.

I don't have them plugged and plan to make a new shelf so I can get them flush with the screen to eliminate reflections as well as give them a bit more breathing room. I don't notice any lack of bass or anything else having them that close. It was a concern when I bought them, but they sound the same as when I had them out in the room. They still surprise me with how much bass output they are capable of.

Thanks.
