SVS PB1000 or Rythmik LV12R..narrowed it down to these two candidates.

These are confirmed prices by both SVS and Rythmik. Outalw and HSU are out due to prohibitive shipping and duty costs. These are my only 2 options I'm considering now.

The SVS will cost me $603. shipped to my adddress
The Rythmik will cost me $679 shipped to my address.

I understand that the Rytmik contains a 12" driver in a vented enclosure and the SVS has a 10" driver also in a vented enclosure, yet despite the difference in driver sizes, both deliver the same output. Which would you go for and why?

I have no doubt the Rythmik will have more headroom than the PB1000. Go for the Rythmik.

Hard to say as they're both likely to be quite good and we don't have much concrete performance info on either. In terms of service/support/warranty, I'd lean towards SVS.

Seems like I've seen this question before. Wonder why? :D

What size is your room? That's a critical component in making a sub decision. However, since I've reviewed both of them already I'm pretty sure I know what my answer will be.

As u may know I'm in the same boat. But I've decided on SVS due to there extensive warranty and there customer service, which I've spoken to them on many different occasions and have been impressed with there quick responses and all around really nice people who are very informative and helpful. I'm just not sure yet whether I'm gonna go with duel PB-1000'S are a single PB-12NSD.

I'd say get the PB1000 and use the 76 bucks for blu-ray movies.:D

Having owned the predecessor of the pb1000...I'd go for the Rythmik being at 12" for slightly more money...I don't think I would have sold the pb12 if I had it at the time....JMO. In any case once you decide I'd like some pictures....pls.

Another vote for the Rythmik...still loving mine after a month and a half. The 12" size and servo was the defining factor for me over the PB-1000. According to cubic volume standards as defined here :) I need a larger sub than I have, but I find the LV12R has PLENTY of power.

I opened similar threads in AVSForum and HomeTheater Shack and got some good responses in AVSForum. I think I'm going with the Rythmik .... I don't know anything about Ryhmik's reputation but from what some people are saying, its a solid company.

They are partnered with Ascend, who's as reliable/stable an ID company as anybody else out there, for what that's worth. I've also found Brian to be prompt in responding to queries, which I can't say about every ID subwoofer brand.

Thanks Steve. Its nice to hear good things about a company/people before pulling the trigger. Shipping to and from Canada is a real pain in the a?? and its not a cheap proposition either.
