It is a common mistake that when someone hears the term "dB", they assume that it is immediately related to sound or more exactly sound pressure level. That is not the reality of the situation.

I'm sure you know this, but your original post may lead others to that conclusion.

Where were you during the first two pages of this tread when we were trying to explain something to colin?

I notice that you were conspiciously absent while others were doing the heavy lifting trying to explain a concept to a newbie, yet you're johnny-on-the spot to try to point out pedantic issues with the answers provided by others when, in fact, you just cloud the issue.

It's almost as if you're trying to look like you know more than you really do, or a dog pithing on a tree to mark his territory.
