Seriously, I have no life.
I don't own Casino Royale, but like to try this out even though I think I have it calibrated the way I like it. Read

Like to hear your thoughts.
Video is similar to audio in that we may prefer something but how do we know if that is the way it should sound or look?
I know of Jeff and trust his knowledge:) Nothing like using the right gear to calibrate the display but if that is not happening, I suppose his guide is helpful. Knowing how the display should look on those scenes and what and how to adjust the display to get there are two different birds. :D As well how much if that magenta supposed to be? ;)

I have the BD and now I will have to print that article and check it out. I wonder if the frames around those seconds are much different and I have the right frame:D
Thanks for posting that article.

I also have it now but have not played it to check it out.
Curious to read your experience. Just a reminder that such checks are very subjective. I have no idea what a normal flesh tone is supposed to look like, especially on TV. Maybe the actor has a good tan? ;):D

Mtrycrafts I just checked everything I pretty much had everything good except for the 35:37 it had a bit of green on her face. I moved the tint from 0 to -10. Looks alot better. Not 1 color bleed. I did my setting by eye so not too bad.:) I think yall should try it, it helps.

Waiting for someone to try this. Casino Royale looked stunning after doing it.

Forgot where I saw this post. ;) Good thing you revitalized it. One night I unknowingly used another one of his 3 bond movies and of course I didn't see the right scenes. Scratched my head, went back to see where the article came from and got the right movie.
A few days ago I had another chance to look at all those spots. Just as he described it but then, the pj was calibrated some years ago by the guy who wrote that article. :D

I guess no one else is interested.

Ok great mtrycrafts I bet it's looks fantastic. Yeah my guess Is most people here had their sets calibrated by a pro, but still why not try it? What about J_Garcia? :)

I keep forgetting to look at it. I did use a setup disc for all of my picture adjustments in the past, and have been happy with my picture quality. Using a setup disc is one of the first things I do after buying a TV. Or video source. (My BD player matches my DVD player for settings, but my LD player requires that I make a brightness adjustment different. The BD and DVD settings appear to be correct for broadcast TV, but they would need to broadcast test patterns for me to be sure.;))

I will try to remember to look at the article and see what things look like on my TV at the various places mentioned in the article. But it is not something I will do tonight, and since this is the sort of thing I am apt to forget about, it may be a while.

Hard to do gray scale at the different levels by eye, or to get the right color where it needs to be on that triangle;) or, get to 6500K at all the levels. With a projector I think it matters. TV, not that critical but is important.

Surprisingly enough, I remembered to check my TV. All is well; I did not need to do any adjustments.

Is there some reason why you think this is better than just using a test disc?

I really wanted to do it by eye and I guess it worked because from all the test I tried it come out with flying colors, except for the bit of green of the face that I never noticed till I did the test with Casino Royale.
