I have mismatched subs. Is it better to use both with the defeat switch set to OUT for avr management or set the Kreisel to OUT so it can handle the mid, upper bass and set the HSU to IN to handle only the low bass? Below are the specs for each sub. Thank you!

I think it's best to use them together for everything. You will want to level match if possible.

It is 350 watts RMS, but 1400W peak. The Ken Kreisel will probably be more capable overall, but the HSU will probably only run out of gas at high levels or during the most demanding material.

That is why Dr Hsu suggested I use the Kreisel for only mid, upper and the Hsu set to IN at 50 hz or lower to just handle the deep bass.

I went head and removed the HSU. I think the Kreisel gives me a cleaner sound operating alone. For one I don't sacrifice spl because it is not combined like before with the HSU running.
