I'm looking to get a copy of Adele21 but the CD sounds quite compressed from what I've heard. Does anyone know if the Vinyl version is any better? thanks.

Crap, now you've got me thinking about breaking out my old Thorens Turntable and figuring out how to burn vinyl into lossless files.
I'm not missing vinyl, but if some CD's are compressed, and the record isn't, that is a whole nother issue!

I have the vinyl version. Actually, bought it for my GF for a birthday gift.

I will say that it sounds very good and detailed (Technics SL1200, Pio Elite, GE Triton2). I think it was well worth the money.

However, I have not heard the CD, only the itunes download, and never did any "critical listening" on that.

Then there's the question of which pressing. There's that 180g UK thing discussed here. Now I'm all confused but I think we should lean on TLS to unravel this mystery. I mean he's got a record player and he's British and he's a physician ... like maybe when he's done psycho analyzing this impressive contribution to pop music he could fix her chubby little broken heart.

Here's more on the UK pressing bit.

The info on the first link was really conclusive, eh? *L* I liked the 2nd link better. If the US recording quality of Adelle's album is as good as Tom Petty's MOJO, I would definately snag the US version of it. Tom Petty's recording was very quiet between tracks and very dynamic . :)

I got the album on vinyl. You should get it too ... I compared it a bit back and forth between the CD and vinyl. I 'enjoy' the vinyl more. About that there is no question. Of course I think that's because it sounds a little better.

-had to flip the album-

There's some primo bass on tracks 1 and 11. Maybe on other tracks too but those are familiar to me. Also her voice sounds ... I don't know ... less like it's making the little electrons have a tizzy. Chances are if she sang for me in person I would probably let her have me.

Niiiice.

Did anyone hear her do the Skyfall track at the Oscars. She freaking nailed it.

This is really not my style of music at all, but I find myself listening because her skill is incredible.

I did watch that. Her Royal Albert Hall performance is a good watch too. Only DD though.
