Is the JBL Synthesis SDP-45 A/V Processor overpriced and underfeatured...or is there more to the story?

Way over my budget likely, but I like the modular approach.

JBL is Harmon, which owns dbX... which has more capabilities/resolution/etc than Audyssey, but doesn't have such an easy to use approach.

I also actually like how clean and 'simple' this unit looks. I've had my Onkyo Professional for a while, been a really good unit. This is the latest:

Onkyo Professional

So, I run processing externally using dbX, but if I wanted to could use Audyssey. I don't use the dynamic volume either really, but if I watched TV more I would miss it.

So, like the simplicity, but bet the JBLs cost is huge and there are other offerings. I wonder if it will get reviewed? How many do you think they plan to sell?

You got me curious. Are you using a DriveRack or something similar?

It's a Bryston SP3 with a custom face plate and firmware. Still a nice processor though. It will likely list for about $10.5k from what I heard recently ($1k more than the SP3)
