Has anyone heard of this company?.. Very interesting opinions on music playback.. Read the "Free Audio Upgrades" on the left column to see what I mean.. Some things I've heard about but other tips I haven't.. Thought I'd pass it along..

Do a search there are at least a dozen threads on their amazing "ideas". Those threads tend to be rather funny too, since snake oil doesn't tend to go over real well here.

I hear ya on the snake oil part.. They might have a point on sitting closer to your speakers and other things.. What are your thoughts on placing smaller speakers and center channels on the floor and tilting them up?..

Proper aiming of speakers yes. As for placing them low to the floor? Not so much, because speakers radiate spherically. At the proper height works better, since that's how the speaker designers design them IMHO.

What??? I'm no golden ear, but I slept in the alley behind a Holiday Inn Express once, and let me tell you, stuff like this looks like the real deal to me:
Double Helix MK1 Power Cord-Mapleshade

For a mere $165, you too can buy an uninsulated power cord covered in saran wrap. Think just how clear and grain free your audio will become once that opaque, audiophile disapproved insulation is removed and replaced with clean, clear saran wrap, which is guaranteed to keep your cords fresh for years to come.

In spite of their hardware, they do put out some fine sounding recordings. The artists and material, well...

At least people normally try and make their snakeoil look good...

Most stereos have too many grounds—every 3-prong plug is a ground. Less grounds improve hum AND sonics. Either one ground per system (at the preamp or amp) or none is best. Remove one ground at a time and listen. Use a hardware store cheater plug; attach a 6" wire to the ground lug. Lock the wire’s other end to the hole in the middle of a Radio Shack banana plug [#274-721, plastic shell removed]. Plug each component's AC cord into its outlet via the 2-prong cheater. Plug the banana into the same outlet’s round ground hole. Listen with the banana in, then out. If out is better, eliminate this ground by clipping the cord's ground pin or by leaving the cheater in place (cheaters always hurt sound a little).

Nearly 50% of components have the wrong AC polarity. Use an unpolarized cheater plug (unpolarize the plug by snipping or filing the wider prong) to turn each component's AC plug in its outlet. Listen both ways. One way will sound noticeably more transparent than the other.
Seriously? They're telling people to cut the grounds off their plugs and use un-polarized cheater plugs? This has to be a joke.

Use only music to break in our wires, preferably music with strong transients (i.e. music with lots of percussion and/or plucked instruments).

Really

Obviously you don't understand electric flow theory. If you don't use something with strong transients you don't set the electrons properly. Without transients and good variation you can get some pretty bad electron burnin where your wires won't readily pass transients due to atomic laziness.
