Safe? A small speaker on top of a large speaker?

I have 2 stereos in my living room. One is a home theater 5.1 and the other is an old school 2 channel. I want to keep my front speakers from the theater on top of my large speakers from the 2.0 stereo. Is this OK? All speakers are magnetically sheilded, but with the small front speaker being so close to the voice coil on the large speaker, I am concerned about disrupting the magnetic field. Can I harm the speakers in this way? Will sound quality suffer?

If they are all (properly) shielded, then it is a moot point. The magnetic fields can't interact with each other.

FWIW, on my 2nd rig, I have a pair of monitors sitting on top of a pair of towers, so I can swap out speakers depending on how I feel that day or what equipment I want to run them off of. I know the towers are shielded, I think the monitors are too but can't remember for sure. I have 0 problems.

I would recommend getting some Auralex Mopads to put between the monitors and the towers.

Thank you. I'm pretty sure both are properly Shielded I have one more question about underpowering/ overpowering.. I just bought a pair of Sony SS-F6000 speakers. The specifications say: 180 Watts MAXIMUM INPUT POWER. I am currently waiting for delivery of a Sherwood RX-4109 2 channel receiver. It's specs say 2 x 105 Watts, but it doesn't say if that's peak, or RMS. Will I be OK with this combination? Both are 8 ohms.

Shielded or not, I can't see two speakers even sitting right on top of each other having any effect on each other. I do it all the time when listening to new speakers and mine are not shielded.
