What if I made it a custom chest strap and attached a buttkicker mini concert to myself? Should I try it out? Could I possibly kill myself? I'm new to this forum and that was just an idea...

Someone posted it before that a company already released a "personal" system like that a few years ago. Apparently it didn't catch on.

If you have to ask it's generally not a good idea. ;) I think we already know the answer to the question.

Can I also ask why you would want to do this...?

Every time I go to a concert, I always get the feeling of my body/chest shaking (from all the low end) and I wanted to recreate it in my living room without all the spl levels

Your body is to soft for that to really work. When you attach it to a chair you impart a lot of energy to the chair, so it shakes. In turn that energy is transferred effectively through you. If you strapped it to yourself you would only really shake whatever part was directly in contact with it.

Think of it like poking the plate a glob of jello is on vs poking the jello itself. Same amount of energy applied to the plate and the while thing wiggles, if you just poke the jello and it just kinda depresses under your finger.

It would also be fairly unconformable...

But if I strategically mounted it, it would be bone conduction which is the whole principle of a tactile transducer

Just get a massage chair if you want to vibrate without the accompanying noise. Although last time I was in one it was pretty noisy......

I suspect if you strapped a buttkicker to yourself it would end up being noisy anyways with the sounds of "THIIIISSSSSS SSSUUUCCCKKKKKSSSSS!!!" Filling the room. :p :D

You must be young. This idea was already mass produced when I was a kid. I can't remember the name, but it was a vest that you put on that did the same thing as a buttkicker. It plugged into the headphone jack of video games systems. Bottom line...it sucked, and that is why you have never heard of it. I have buttkickers and clark synthesis transducers in my couch now and the effect is a whole lot better.

You've clearly not seen my abs. :p
