Batch Image Resize/Rename?

Anyone know of a single freeware program which can batch resize rename and resize photos?

I don't need both things to happen at once, but would like to perhaps specify a target folder for a resize as I don't necessarily want original photos to be overwritten.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Irfanview is the best freeware image editor for everyday tasks like that. Very easy to batch resize/rename images. It'll resize and rename all in one step. You can have it delete the original images, overwrite them (if keeping file names the same), or leave them. You can have the new files in the same folder or any folder you choose.

^^. I try to get freeware first if possible than to buy or "borrow" retail software. One more vote for Irfanview.

Another vote for Irfanview. I use it all the time for a variety of tasks.

For future reference, Gizmo's Freeware is an excellent source for free programs and is searchable and organized by category.

I just downloaded Irfanview and will give that a try.

Photoshop is extremely weak at their overall batch processes and is a long way from free. It can do it, but it wasn't really designed for it. I used to use ACDSee, which isn't free, and works great, but I don't have it on my current PC.

Thanks for the recommendations!

FYI, you can download CS2 (along with other progams) with the registration keys right from Adobe now.
