Finally! I held off on the DVD for this and I just pre-ordered it. I don't think I've ever been as emotionally affected by a movie as this one. When I saw it in the theatre, at the end, there was total silence in the cinema and nobody got out of his seat until the credits finished. I have not seen that happen before or since.

Great movie for sure but I don't know if I would watch it more than once every 10-15 years. Too heavy.

I haven't seen this since the theaters. As I recall it was Itzhak Perlman playing a lament on solo violin at the end credits or was it the final scene, or both, hmm. I don't remember so well.

I will definitely rent this at the very least, and then decide at a later point if I will buy. I'm sure the BD should get the 5 star treatment. It probably won't be cheap.

The pre-order price at Amazon.ca yesterday was $25 - not bad, IMO. And yes, that is Itzhak Perlman playing (I have the soundtrack).

I agree with this. I thought it was an excellent film, but not sure I am ready to watch it again yet.

Well, I haven't seen it since it was first released in the theatres, so I'm ready for another viewing. Yes, it is heavy on the soul, but it's too well done not to see again.
