Rick, aluminum cased stuff is fine, you obviously cant reload it or resell your casings, but it works.. In my experience aluminum cases get marked up a little easier so you may not want to keep a donzen of them in your pockets with your keys while running through the range, but besides them things they are gtg... what calibers specificaly are you getting...

It's funny you mention that.
My brother went to a Cabela's in PA. over the weekend.
He got talking to a few guys behind the counter, they said they've been selling 1,000+ guns a day for the last 4 years. (that's just one store)

WOW, I don't know how true that guy was being, I've never heard that before 1000 guns a day 7 days a week for 4 years, thats almost more than all the US gun makers produce per day!!!! lol... I wonder how many people work there, the paperwork takes 10-15 minutes a piece, so 1000 would take quite some time, our local cabbellas may make 300 sales per day in the entire store, that is everything from keychains to sneakers....

It's amazing. I did a quick search and found this:

The FBI reported a record-high number of background checks for firearms purchases in the month of December, in the wake of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
According to a report from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System out Wednesday, there were about 2.8 million background checks on those seeking to purchase firearms last month.

That total was 2 million the previous month, and 1.9 million in December of 2011

I'm sure every check doesn't equate to a sale.
However judging from so many places being sold out it seems plausible.

I think it had a lot to do with the worker pulling your brothers leg, lol...
I suppose that's possible....and it's just a hoarding of FBI firearm checks.:confused::D

I can only relay what my brother and Dad told me; they got there at 8:30AM and they were number 115.
In the subsequent 4 hours waiting for their FID checks, #115 was called a total of five times while they were there.
Once for them.

Arizona trip. The guy with the .50 cal was not around so we did not get to shoot the big guy. Did get to shoot my buddy's nice .308 sniper and that was a treat. He dialed it in and said "put the reticle where you want it to go..." I've never shot this one, but the first shot was 1" up and 1" over from the bull on the 100yd. Switched over to the 500yd. First shot was just off to the left, a little adjustment and the second one hit the gong :) Can't post some things since he is now a licensed manufacturer and much of his stuff is in development, but here's his .308 which is only modified not created by him:

This trip was also the first time I fired something full auto :D The AR he is developing is pretty nice too, just some results :) (that's from about 5 different guns total though).

Well there you go, if there was a 4 hour wait for #115 they couldn't possibly cycle through 1000 a day...

What he means is that there were four others with the same number. 115 was called five times, and on the fifth time it was them. Sounds like a lot of sales to me.

Why yes, it would seem to say that. I should probably pay more attention to what I'm reading before replying...

That is a ridiculous amount of sales.

My buddy was talking to a rep who was at the SHOT show this weekend. He said Armalite alone sold $10 million dollars just at the show this weekend...

One of my friends might be selling a Kimber CDP II in the next few months. Depending on how much he'll be asking, I might be buying it :D

I am a bit hesitant to buy firearms online, not sure why but seems odd to me. I have my name in at 2 shops so hopefully they will get some in soon. I will check that out though, thanks dude.

GunBroker or Bud's are well known. A coworker of mine has bought a number of new and used guns from both of them and he has never had any problems.
