Looking forward to learning more from this site and thanks in advance for any insight. I just purchased some Energy brand floor stand speaking. I did have just a small 5 speaker Klpisch system and subwoofer before. So I am keeping the klipsch shelf speakers for my 2 surround sound speakers and my Subwoofer.

I have an Oknyo receiver and what to set the cross over frequency for the subwoofer. How do I do this. My goal is to get the best sound out of this system without having to call geek squad or something,

Thanks for the help

Difficult to answer without knowing specifics. You should be able to set the x-over on the sub as high as it will go and do the bass management with the AVR.

The sub is a Klipsch. Sub 10.... Sub 10 is only thing I see on it as far as a description

My receiver is an onkyo. Is a 6.1/75 w channel

My 2 surround speakers are klipsch book shelf speakers. (3 inch)

2 new floors stand speakers are energy cf-70's

So trying to figure out to get best out of this system. And how do I set my cross frequency etc. also on back of my sub are knobs for gain (setting?) lowpass (setting?) and phase (a switch for 0 or 180)

Any help is appreciated. Obviously I'm a rookie here.

Thank you

The model number of the Onk is a key element here. I would assume that it has the ability to "bass manage" and that's where you will set up the crossover.

Start out by setting the x-over in the AVR to 80hz.

Turn the x-over on the sub as high as it will go.

Set gain at the half way mark on the sub

Ignore the lowpass

Set phase at o

Run the Auto set up on the AVR

Go back into the menu of the AVR and set the speakers to small and make sure the x-over is set to 80hz.

So the receiver is a onkyo tx-sr502

Trying to look up directions online to see if it has bass manager as you mentioned

Thank you for the help.

When setting the individual speaker volume levels. When I'm sitting in the seat where il would be most of the time.... Should all the speakers sound the same level. Even the surrounds? Cause it would seem like to much going to the little 3" in the back vs the floor stand speakers.
