My parents have comcast xfinity. I have the HD cable box set up for the main room. The problem is the bedroom. I have a Samsung in their for them. There is no cable box in the bedroom just the cable wire going into the tv. The problem is that in the bedroom the channels are all out of order. As an example there's like 5 channel 10? 10.1 10.2 10.3 10.4 10.5. The channel set up is different than the living room channel setup?
Any thoughts?

I'm guessing its because no cable box?
Yes, and I think all you're getting is the over air type broadcasts (abc, cbs, upn, fox, etc). On my Samsung the hi def versions of these show up as the x.1 etc. stations.

Alot of tv's have a channel setup feature that will organize them in the order it finds them. Try looking for that and then running it.

I had done the auto set up. The numbers are in order but like i said they are in a differ order than the main room. My parents called Comcast and they said a box would set it up correctly.

This is due to the lack of cable box, it's how digital TV works over cable.

Your tv reads it as such: on the old fashioned analog channel 10 there are those 5 digital channels being broadcast. As a general rule you can get 5-6 SD channels and around 3 HD channels on each analog frequency block (channel).

The cable box goes ahead and obscures all of that for you by just giving you a channel number and going through the 10.3 etc conversion in the background.

Some TV's allow you to assign channel numbers manually to achieve the same end.
