Just to be sure, speaker level was not changed? Or you did to show the graphs clearly?
If the former, I guess REW is not equipped to use the mic correction levels for UMIK?

The two weren't perfectly level matched since I can only use the behringer when I'm using parallels so just getting everything to function correctly is a chore, however it wasn't as far apart as the graph makes it seem, I did use the overlay to help space them out a bit more.

The issue I encountered in terms of the levels was adjusting mic sensitivity. With the UMIK I had the volume all the way up in the MIDI controller because it always reads low, although as you can see when you level it into the "good" range when you check levels before you measure, you end up with something reading louder than when I ran the check levels with the behringer. I think that if I had left the UMIK reading "low" it would have ended up nearly on top of the behringer in terms of the level.

The dips and peaks are slightly muted in the Behringer. I assume that is due to minor variation in mic location. That said, the two are close enough to yield a very dependable measurement.

UMIK on the top Behringer on the bottom, this time in the sub frequencies. Outlaw LFM-1 EX. I also had the sub connected to an anti-mode dual core. I'm still getting the hang of the anti-mode, but you get the idea. Pretty similar.

About the whole broken box thing, I contacted miniDSP and they told me it would cost the same to send the box or a brand new mic. I asked them if they would ship the mic only after they received the return and they have yet to answer, it's been about a day. Hopefully they get back to me today so we can get this over with.

So trying to communicate with miniDSP is becoming increasingly annoying. Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but I don't think it should take 2-4 days to get a reply by e-mail. I'm not asking complicated questions, nor am I making any unreasonable demands. I am simply trying to find out if they think I should return the mic and get a new one or if a replacement box will work and the mic I have is fine. I feel as though if I joined their forum I would get responses much faster.

Fuzz, So after having this for awhile, in your opinion, Is this a winner? I've been wanting to get something to do quick measurements with and then figure how I want to adjust after the fact.

I have this now working as well since the REW got an update, revision 10, to recognize this mic and the correction table. Now the mic can be calibrated:)

I used a reliable pink noise test disc and the measurement part of REW with 1/3 octave to go with my 1/3 octave EQ for the fronts and it seems to work well. Doing the other functions is a learning curve especially with a laptop that has HDMI outs and no RCA. Worked initially but now it is not recognizing the receiver as a sound input, only as a monitor.

Yes, I have been using the mic with OSX and I would highly recommend it. I have yet to try it with parallels so I can't comment on how it works with windows, but mtry can answer those questions.

Works great, no problems easy to use, plug and play. I just wish John would update the OSX version of REW so I didn't have to diddle around with parallels since I've been having issues with my other mic and running parallels. I guess I'll have to report back as to how the UMIK works with parallels.
