Best AVR with pre outs for $500 to $1000

Hi I am looking for a good AVR with speaker pre outs as I will grab an amp at a later date, to go with my Rythmik FV15HP I am getting and 2 floor standing speakers on which I am also still in the process of deciding on. I have been recommended Onkyo but then I have heard they have reliability issues. What are peoples sugestions for the price range of $500 - $1000. Cheers

Amazon is now selling the 3312 open box for $620 shipped. I would buy that and get 3 yr warranty. I really like my 3312. You should also gve Electronics Expo a call and see what their best price is the 3312/3313. They seem to have an open box for $528. See if they would lower the price down to $500 delivered.

Besides that, I would look at Yamaha and Pioneer Elite.

709 for $400-450, 122k Pioneer for 550-600, but the denon would be your best bet, although the amp section in the pioneer interests me....

They seem to have an open box for $528.

All I see is them saying 'used' with either a 14 day or 30 day return and no mention of open box with a 3 year warranty. Mind you I'm not calling people on the phone to have them tell me something that's not in print.

I've talked to Denon support twice about this.

Their position is, if you purchase "USED" from an authorized Denon dealer and the sales receipt does NOT say "REFURBISHED", then Denon considers it "OPEN BOX" - as if you walked into the local store and bought an OPEN BOX.

The KEY is DENON AUTHORIZED & NOT REFURBISHED.

You could also talk to the sales guy and request they wrote the worlds "OPEN BOX ITEM" on the sales receipt.
