AcuDefTechGuy - OT, but love the pics of all the speakers in your sig! How many rooms do you have where you keep these? I see you have several pairs in your main HT room, do you prefer to use certain speakers over others while listening to various material?

First time I listened to Inception soundtrack I didn't think much of it.

Now I'm listening with dual Funk and boy oh boy this soundtrack rocks.
It's amazing, isn't it!

Man, now I want to try out this TSAD driver.

=(

I never did put much stock into subs....until now.

A lot of guys laughed when I got the dual Rythmik D15SE. I never understood why. I never understood the dynamic SPL power compression.

But comparing the Funk vs Rythmik vs RBH on Inception soundtrack and Dark Knight Rises soundtrack (both by Hans Zimmer), I can see the light now. Hands on experience. No substitute for real life experience. Night and day. World of difference. It was like going from 480p to 1080p experience. No turning back now.

The Inception and Dark Knight Trilogy soundtracks are absolutely merciless and relentless. I can hardly breathe listening to them. Asthma patients and heart patients beware.

I'll be selling the dual Rythmik and RBH on eBay. Think I'll get the Adcom Speaker selector and let my 802D2, Salon2, and 201/2 share the TSAD18 experience.

Two rooms - HT and living room.

Well, just depends on the mood. Like to change things up from time to time. :D

Well, I'll be damned. You must have prescribed yourself a sanity pill. Good thinking! :D

Just got up the attic after work today looking for boxes. There were many boxes.

I found the 2 Rythmik boxes. I also got the 2 boxes for the 2 Denon 3310s.

Guess my room will get a little lighter. Won't need as many AVR and amps with the Adcom speaker selector.

My dual Rythmik subs are now boxed up.

Dual Funk are now powered by AT3002. Revel, B&W, & KEF will be powered by AT3005.

AT2004 will go in closet for future needs.

Orion still gets 8ch of the AT6012. Dual RBH will now be bi-amped with 4ch of the AT6012. Anyone ever bi-amped a sub?

Now all unpowered active subs (no internal crossovers).

ya. noticed the same thing, and he's got performance specs 2 :) 114dB ;)
that 18.0 is killer 126 dB max output. and AcuDefTechGuy is only running something like 300W... imagine if he fed them the 2.4kW they ask for...

Last I understood, he was planning to use the crown(s), but hooked them up initially to his other amp(300watts) and has been so happy with them has not bothered to set them up with the crown(s).

ps to AcuDefTechGuy; At some point I may have to lend you one of our new external, DSP, 2x2.4kW sub amps to test out ;)

btw; All our new subs offer the same stellar performance and build quality that we are known for, at spectacular prices. The 18.0C and 18.1 are exceptionally great value.

Yes, I was so happy with just the AT2004 amp, which is 300 watts RMS 4 ohms @ 0.03% THD 20Hz-20kHz.

My room is only 15' x 18' x 15'.

If it were 25' x 30' x 15', the more power amps might be used.

Now I have them hooked to the AT3002 amp, which is 450 watts RMS 4 ohms @ 0.03% THD 20Hz-20kHz.:D

Nathan,

Would it be possible to purchase a single channel 2.4kw amp from you? Are you now making this in an external version? I assume that these are also fanless amps?

Thanks for any help. I've been searching for the right amp given my circumstances and this might be perfect.

We only have the dual 2.4kW external amp, the single is only in plate amp form.

I would like to let everyone know the prices for the 18.0 and 18.3 will be going up %10 as of Jan 1st 2013, along with the price increase we are going to be making some upgrades to the 18.0 and 18.3 including the 2.4kW X1 M2 amplifier, now to be called the 2.4kW X1 M3, that all new orders, as well as some recently placed orders, will have implemented at the current prices. So if your considering ordering do not miss out on this opportunity to get the improved products at current prices.
