Best way to run Room Correction

How do you guys set you sub and speaker levels before running audessey xt (denon 1912) Have heard that people are setting speaker levels high? sub set at LFE? phase set to 150? dynamic volume? dynamic eq? What say you?

Don't set your levels high (at least at first).

Sub set at LFE? I don't know what that means. LFE stands Low Frequency Extension or Low Frequency Effects depending on whether you are talking about speakers (the former) or movie and receiver type stuff (the latter). Both are different. If I had to guess I think you are talking about the high pass for LFE (Low Frequency Effects) in which case set it as high as it will go, usually 120Hz.

Audyssey should correct phase for you, but if it doesn't just listen to some music or a movie at 0, then watch the same exact stuff (or listen) and switch to 180 and see which sounds better.

Fuzz, i bought and built the css trio12 apr sub we had talked about a few months ago, it is an awesome piece, thanks for the tip! The amp (bash500) has a switch that says lfe or crossover on the back, auto/on switch, a gain dial, and a phase dial, just wondering where these should be switched/turned to to start audessey?

Also do i adjust the level on the speakers first to "0" or a different level, or do i let audessey make those adjustments?

No problem

If it is connected to a receiver you want to select LFE, otherwise you will be using the built in crossover, which is not what you want. I'm not seeing a phase dial when I google bash 500 amp. I'm seeing a knob labeled "freq" and a phase switch. Am I looking at the right amp?

If you have the Switch set to LFE and not crossover, then I believe the "Freq" knob doesn't do diddly, although now that I think about it there is the possibility that it could serve as a HPF when switched to LFE. So yes, turn it all the way up just to be safe. At worst it just won't be doing anything.

Phase you play around with. Play a short scene or song and listen to how everything sounds together. Then play it again, but flip the phase switch the other way. Whichever way the sub sounds better is where you should leave the phase switch.
