Anyone guess what speaker this driver is from?

I feel like I just killed something pulling this apart :(...

Issue with some sort of slight buzzing coming from it again, same as what happened out of the box when I got them back in July. Guy I talked to from RBH told me to rip it apart and take a look at the voicecoil. Looks fine to me. Now I wait for a replacement.

Every time I call them I get great CS. Would like to know why this has happened twice though.

Yikes, at least you were told to do so. Good thing they have spare parts still, when I talked to them a few months ago they said no spare parts other than to fill warranty requests. So I was SOL for just in case parts.

Glad to hear you're still able to get replacements and good luck. Hope you get the new one works for you.

I hope so too. I told him that Shane said he might have to take one out of an already assembled pair last time. But he said he'll find one, if not do the same this time. A bunch of good guys over there. I'd still like to know what's causing it though.... It seems like a waste of time/money to do this, twice now. I feel bad for calling back a second time for another driver replacement.

Hmm, there's got to be a reason. It feels weird that you can't identify something obvious. Are you 100% sure it couldn't have been somewhere else along the chain and that it is definitely the woofer? Wasn't the VC, it wasn't rubbing on anything, truly odd.

Honestly have no idea. The bad thing was, I didn't pay attention to which one I swapped out last time. So I don't know if it's the same one again or not. I even looked at the screws to see if I scratched the paint at all taking the screws out but apparently I didn't. So I have no idea which one I swapped out. I guess I'll pay attention this time and remember which cabinet got the driver swap in case it happens again. I can't imagine it will, and hope it doesn't.

I can't imagine there's any way it's being damaged. I don't listen at nearly high enough levels to damage any speakers. I rarely get over 70 dB at 10 ft away....

Well hopefully this time it all gets worked out and you can finally just enjoy these things. I forget, do you have these crossed over to something? If so, what might that something be?

Right now they're just crossed to a couple of these Aura transducers. I'm not able to run my subs cuz of my neighbors/landlord while at school. I have two Rythmik FV15HP's though, as well as the RBH T-2's which have these 1010SE's as the bass cabinets...

But right now, as I said, I'm lacking in the bass department. And rarely even turn on the transducers. So I'm listening to 60+ hz. Unless I run the KEF Q900's, then I'll lower those to a 40hz cutoff.

Ahhhh, I remember now. With the mirage nanosats sitting on top as well. It's all coming back to me. That sucks big time that you have those subs and can't use them.

Them were actually OMD-5's, but I sold them last year sometime. I'm trying to get rid of some speakers here and there. Hence trying to get rid of the KEF's if I can. Or the Wharfedale's I got. I just want to get rid of some extra things lying around. Plus a matching T1 or 6100SE for the T-2's wouldn't hurt as a center.... :)

Sounds like a good plan. A matching center would be awesome and definitely help the overall setup I think. What wharfedale's are you selling?

I don't even have those T-2's set up anymore though. They're in their boxes, alongside the Rythmik's, alongside the E5ti's, alongside a Denon 3312, all sitting in my mom's basement until I finish up school. One semester, and some change, left! :D

I'm selling Pacific Evo-40's, cept mine look like this:

Nice, Well hopefully you can move some of this gear so that you can get that center and maybe a capable subwoofer finally :p :D

Cheers

Just recently accepted a job offer with Dow Corning and will be looking at houses/apartments with my fiancée over spring break this year. Kinda hoping to get a house and possibly actually have a theater room for once. Would be a nice change from what I've had so far. Being able to run everything I got at the same time for the first time, I'm assuming will more/less blow me away.

That sounds awesome. Congrats and good luck. I expect the setup all together will sound amazing. You will definitely be blown away methinks. You probably already covered this (since it seems like you've covered all my other queries previously), but what will you use as surrounds in this future home theater room?

Most likely the E41-B's just to get a good match across all 5. Not sure if I should hone in on a T-1 for a center or that 6100 though. I think the 6100 would be easier to accommodate since it's not as fat, it's longer/skinner. Got quotes on each of them and they each cost pretty close to what I paid for the T-2's with the subs and sub amps... Apparently I got a pretty good deal on the ones I have.

Well, I would hold off on the center until you get everything set up in whatever room it will eventually be in. That way you can accurately assess whether or not the towers are imaging well enough to get away without one for a bit. I love the E-41B's, but for surrounds I'm all about source technology. Right now a friend of mine loaned me a pair of his surrounds and I just bought the RC-4A's. I've also heard the LS26's and I'm picking up a pair of 8.3WC's to use as surrounds (or at least that's the plan for now). I highly recommend giving them a listen if you should ever have the opportunity.

I could try, but I'm way in the middle of nowhere. I HIGHLY doubt there are any dealers nearby, let alone anyone that owns them.

I don't plan on buying anything for sometime now though, unless I convince myself to get one of those centers.
