Confirmed all the above. Opened the box at the store (which had been opened before) after work today. The mic was missing but the remote and the receiver itself look like they've never been out of the box. The friendly sales lady took an unopened mic out of one of the clearance 1712s and put it in the box with the 2112CI. I still walked out without it. I guess I'm going to make the 40 minute one-way drive tomorrow to Magnolia to see if they have any clearance stuff left. I'm kinda leaning towards a new 1713 but I can't make up my mind on whether or not the changes between the xx12 and xx13 are worth it for me.
I briefly considered the new Onkyo lineup but you're stuck with Audyssey 2EQ unless you buy the 818 which has XT32. Thanks a lot of Onkyo.
So then I start researching various flavors of Audyssey and read all sorts of opinions regarding the value of the room correction. Some swear by YPAO, others by MCACC, some think it's all vastly overrated. I've read so much on this stuff that I have no idea what to believe or think anymore.
I might be better served by just getting something inexpensive and putting that money towards a better subwoofer and speakers. The wife and I watched Quantum of Solace tonight and it didn't sound bad but with my current setup, it still feels like it's straining to maintain the volume level we enjoy.
