Re-capping older amplifiers

It is very important when buying these expensive caps. Only buy these caps from authorized distributors or right from factory.

On Ebay there are lot of Cornell Dubilier/Nichicon large Caps. I checked these part numbers with CDE they told me they never made those caps. It Looks like they are copys. It might work but very risky.

I have two sets of caps for levinson 334/331. Brand new caps date code 6/2012

Cornell Dubilier
46000uF/75v 8 caps
1900uF/250V 8 caps

Very helpful info you have posted.
I have 2 x ML333 which both have the dreaded hum, indicating the caps have gone. I have the ML 333 repair manual but the appendix is missing which has all the drawings, diagrams and bias resetting.
Do you have any of this info for the unit?

Just replace all 8 caps on Levinson 333. The hum will be gone.
I had five sets of caps for 333/336/332/335 all sold. The 51000uF/160V Cornell Dubilier and 1900uF/250V caps. One set was sold to a Levinson repair center in Canada. The customers 333 caps exploded when speaker wires were shorted. The Technicain replaced all 8 caps with Cornell dubilier and a shorted resistor and a driver in board. The amp is working great now.
The techician might have the drawings and bias adjustments. The only thing that goese bad on levinson is the Junk China made Philips capacitors.

THESE CAPS ARE USED BY LEVINSON REPAIR CENTER ALSO ALL OF THESE CAPS BOTH CORNELL DUBILIER AND UNITED CHEMICON THEY ONLY MAKE THESE EXPENSIVE CAPS WHEN REQUESTED. IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER 3 TO 4 WEEKS TO GET IT. MAY BE SOONER.

CORNELL DUBILIER 51000uF/160V WITH 200V SURGE ALL SOLD ALSO SUPER EXPENSIVE I WILL NOT ORDER ANY MORE BECAUSE IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE.
UNITED CHEMICON 50000uF/125V AND 1900uF/250V CORNELL IS THE BEST REPLACEMENT FOR LEVINSON 333/336/332/335. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE LOT OF LEVINSON ALL OVER THE WORLD WITH CAPS DEAD. MULTIMEDES YOU CAN CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE INTRESTED.

Yes, I'm an EE at a test lab that specialized in counterfeit detection. We do lots of caps.

Always go through authorized distributor when possible.

I will have the caps for Mark Levinson 333/336/332/335. United Chemicon 50000uF/125V with 155V surge. Also Cornell small caps for regulator supply. Levinson repair center uses these same UCC caps for filter supply.
