i have a yamaha htr-6240 Tuner attached to a blueray dvd player. the tuner is attached to a brand new hd plasma tv.

Here is the issue: i put in a blueray disc and send signal to tuner then to TV. all via hdmi. the tuner is not sending any info to the TV. when i set the blueray player back to 1080i all is good.

i bypassed for testing purposes and went direct from dvd to tv at 1080p and all is perfect.

Any ideas why the tuner is not allowing the 1080p signal to continue on to the TV?

is there a setting on the tuner i should know of to allow it to accept and pass through 1080P?
thank you in advance

I'm not familiar with your receiver. However, I would suggest looking at the video settings on the receiver, be sure you are in some pure resolution or passthrough mode. It could be that the receiver is trying to convert the 1080p signal to lower resolution (720p or 1080i, etc), and that usually doesn't work out well.

Update

ok, i found something.

on the DVD 1080P output i changed it from 60 kHz to 24khz.

now the tuner puts the signal to the tv and the tv confirmed its 1080P.

so, what did that do? is that bad to send in 24 instead of 60?
