Should I Bi Amplify my speakers? I read many surround sound receiver revues. Now a day’s most new surround sound receivers have extra channels of amplification. The reviewers usually suggest to bi amp the front three speakers with the extra amps. I have read that there are really no audible benefits to bi-application. If this is the case why even suggest this if there are no benefits.

Because it sounds nifty on marketing material to those who don't know better.

You DO get more power when you bi-amp with separate amps, however if you just get an amp with enough power to handle what you are trying to do, you don't need to bi-amp.

I highly recommend doing a search. This question comes up about weekly. There is *a lot* of recent discussion that you can read.

I might recommend bi-amping (buy-amping) with separate amps for hard to drive speakers. Otherwise there is no sonic benefit.

Bi-amping with an active crossover is a whole different thing. That is a good idea but generally not needed. An active subwoofer gives you 80-90% of the benefits.
