Witten and Bryant really dropped a number of key passes including a couple of TD passes. Eventually the defense wore down, but I suspect Witten won't be dropping balls again.

I still can't stand Vick. He makes it hard for me to even turn on the TV. I couldn't stand his style of football when he was in Atlanta and I can't stand it now. The Eagles will always be my team...it's just not entertaining now, even though they are winning.:(

I'd like to see Reid and Vick gone and for us to get a coach that can be flexible within his system so we play to our players strengths and a smart QB that is the same way.

Love Celek and McCoy Though. Celek has been my favorite Eagles player for awhile now.

Maybe after the Phillies are done for the year my attitude will change.:)

I knew the game against the Ravens last week would be close but that was just too much. I am happy with the win though we are now 2-0 going into Arizona this afternoon against a decent D with a mediocre QB in Kolb. I think we win big today.
Go Eagles !

Chargers were horrible in every facet of the game yesterday. Mathews still can't hold on to the ball. He's fumbled more in 2 years than LT did in his whole career! Philip keeps throwing the ball away. The defense still can't stop anybody on 3rd down and Scifres shanked a punt that gave the Falcons the ball on the 30!

By the 2nd half I was just fast forwarding and not even really watching the game. To not score a single touchdown at home and then kneel down on the last play of the game when you're down by 24?!?!? Pathetic.

I guess that just shows that we're really good at beating bad teams but anyone halfway decent is going to give us fits. Lame.

The Cowboys are in first place despite how poorly the line has played.

The refs and Owners should be ashamed for dragging the negotiations out with so many blown calls over the weekend.

Green Bay loses the game to Seattle due to several blown call on Monday Night Football which just might spur a settlement and get the real refs back on the field.

This is true.

Rodgers getting sacked 8 times in the first half had a bit to do with it. GB played poorly and if they don't want to be victims of bad calls then they should not place themselves in such situations.

This is absurd. It's the same as blaming rape victims for being raped by saying something like "well if she didn't want to be raped she shouldn't have worn that miniskirt."

I didn't know NFL refs made so much for a part time gig:

"NFL officials make an average of $149,000 per year, and the league has suggested annual 7 percent increases that would raise the regular salary to $189,000..."
Here's an interesting article, with some points I didn't realize:
The NFL Fiasco: Why Referees Are Like Chicago Teachers - Businessweek

A less talked-about, but equally contentious, issue is pay for performance.
The NFL wants to increase the number of officials to 141, creating a bench of trained referees who could be brought in to give other referees a break, but also to replace those referees who the league feels have been blowing calls.
A league spokesman said, “If a guy is underperforming, we could take a guy and sit him down for a while and bring someone else up.”

I'm not sure how you figure it's part time. It's certainly only part of the year, but it's not exactly part time.

And considering what we've seen from the replacements, the talent and skill is not exactly common.

Sounds like these guys make about $10,000 per game. Considering $200 million - 20,000 times what a ref makes in a game - in bets shifted based on the botched outcome of the Packers game, it seems pretty fair. The NFL is not hurting for profits.

I read an article yesterday on ESPN..(I'll see if I can find it)
It said that the refs have regular jobs and do their officiating part time.

I found the ESPN story: Regular officials bear share of blame - NFL - ESPN

Here is an excerpt:
"...It is unrealistic for them to expect the NFL to continue a benefit for part-time employees that it no longer provides for many full-time employees. Sure, you can say the league -- and really, it is the 31 team owners and the Packers conglomeration -- is being greedy, but so, too, are the referees.

They already average a $150,000 annual salary for their officiating jobs while having other careers. Being an NFL ref is not a bad gig. The league has offered to fly them to and from games in first class. It has offered reasonable pay increases."

I understand that, but I don't think it's part time. These guys are in travel status at least two days of the week.

Well they will be heading back to Foot Locker since the NFLPA and the locked out Refs have reached an agreement, The original Refs should be ready to do their jobs as early as this weekend, not too sure about Thursday's game , but the weekend for sure. I must say with all of the realtime Bull$hit going on in this Country of ours I really cant comment on the refs agreement as I simply don't care and refuse to look it up.I find myself looking at the entire NFL players and owners as a bunch of spoiled . greedy , ungrateful jackholes more time than not. Do I like to watch , yes. Do I always feel good about it , No.
