Subwoofer Signal Splitting

So I've been using a Y splitter to split the subwoofer signal of one of my sub pre-outs to use 3 subwoofers. I've been thinking of someday adding a few more subs to my setup, but was wondering how many times I could Y split without signal degradation.

I was also looking for audio distribution amplifiers since I saw someone recommended those at one point for someone with a similar question, but after a very short google search the ones I found were all like $80+ except for ebay of course.

Would this one do what I want? Would it be better than Y splitting (I'm guessing yes)?

Watch out for the bandwidth spec: it's only rated down to 50 Hz. So, that one probably isn't exactly what you want.

Do any of your subs have line level outputs for daisy chaining?

True, I forgot to even look at the bandwidth DOH.

Actually these magical future subs will more than likely be passive with pro amps powering them so I'm pretty sure daisy chaining is out right?

What does the "link/out" label mean on the 1/4" inputs on this Crown XLS-1500?

Likely, the input connectors all hook to the same terminals. In that case, it probably replicates your Y splitters - only inside the amp case.

I'm not sure the connections for daisy chaining subwoofer plate amps is any different.

So I read in the crown manual that the 1/4" link/out is for distributing the signal to other amps.

I'm just unsure if this means it has to be 1/4 to 1/4 or if you can use a 1/4 to RCA/XLR and daisey chain a bunch together. I'm guessing you can, so maybe that will work.

Yeah, but I still think it is probably identical to using Y-splitters.
It was probably a mistake to put text under the photo, but:

I think a splitter adds a little resistance requiring maybe a little extra amplification which can easily be handled by the sub or pre-pro gains. Maybe a company like BJC would be able to give you a direct and definitive answer to your question but my guess is that you needn't worry.

I did see that text under the picture. Even if it is the same I feel as though crown has something figured out so at worst it's as good as the Y splitter.

I haven't noticed any signal degradation so far, but I'm only splitting once. I'll have to e-mail them and see what they have to say.

I think the pre signal has to be a certain voltage for the sub amp to 'pick it up'. Splitting with Y splitters splits voltage in parallel, so i think you are good there. Not sure how you would daisy chain subs... I am interested in current setups with multiple subs... how do they do it? I only ask because I am going dual, then Tri in the very near future :D
