I used to be into hi-fi many years ago...and want to get back into it. So here is what I want to get

1. I want to buy good CD player, amp and speakers
2. I also want to have 5.1 surround in the same room

Do I get a hi quality amp that doubles as an audiophile amp and surround amp and share the speakers - 2 front

Do I keep the two totally separate ...having two amps ans 2 specific purpose sets of front speakers

Or Do I get somje form of Hybrid where the amps are separate but I have to re-wire the speakers into either amp if I choose to listent to audio or Movie ?

I hae about €3000 or $3400 to spend.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks

You could just buy solid Receiver like denon mid-range 231x series.
When listening to music you could switch to Pure Audio mode - which bypasses most of processing

Selecting speakers would most challenging task... at this budget I'd recommend looking for local or EU brands of speakers.... Best if you start by visiting a local stereo shop and listen to different speakers to see which ones you like

CD players are no longer current. Just get inexpensive panasonic bluray player - connect it digitally to receiver - and use it as CD player then needed
