I currently have a Yamaha rxv-1400. My front speakers are niles stagefronts as well as my cntr and rears are niles in ceiling as well as rear center.. Now, I am wanting to upgrade to either a nad 787 or a Yamaha 3010. Would like some advice as too pros and cons of both. I like good sounding music and watch blu ray movies. Thanks, mike

They are both capable receivers. If you can get ears on do so. I personally like both brands but push comes to shove I would probably get the Yamaha since it has a deeper feature set.

Some others that may have actual experience will hopefully chime in.

The one feature that I like in theory on the NAD is their 'MDC' where you can swap out the processing module.

If you look to improve SQ - the difference will marginal... but new AVR will give you better integration with modern hardware (like HDMI support)

I prefer Audyssey XT (or XT32) Auto calibration to YPAO, so I'll recommend a Denon or Onkyo AVRs - like Denon AVR3312CI - for around for good deals on it
