Positives about the drought?

Time to think about some positive things about this drought to counter the exploding hay bales, etc.

1. No mowing the lawn. Heck, it's so dry in SE Wisconsin, the weeds have even given up.

2. Dog doo is dry and hard...easy to clean up!

That's about all I got so far. Anybody else?

3) The cellar won't flood.

4) When the dog comes in, he won't shake water all over the place since there's no rain.

Uh, um, hm, yeah, I got nothing positive to say.

Some people around here burning out their well pumps watering their yard. I'm watering just enough to keep things from dying. When we moved into this house, my wife and I planted drought tolerant plants used in xeriscaping except for the grass. It may be time to look in to some type of prairie grass though.

If enough corn dies it'll raise the price high enough that ethanol producers will fold, and we won't have our cars screwed up with E15 gasoline.

Other than that the drought looks all bad.

My wife pays the water bill...that's a benefit. I am watering enough to scare people, she's going to freak when she gets the next bill.

I've been on my mountain bike every single day because it has been dry. But on the flip side, the trails are REALLY slippery because of it.

No water or mud spots on my freshly waxed car. I hate that. :D

If it is waxed, it doesn't matter :)

Griot's Garage Speed Shine. I carry it in my car for removing bird crap.

Do you have someone detail your car or do you do it? I sort of do that on the side and can do your car too...

I've only been watering the critical plants. The grass...forget it. I don't think I've ever seen it this dry. My grass is so dry it's crunchy when you walk on it.

The lack of bugs and mosquitoes has been very nice. But it weird to tell my kids to go play in the street since it is softer than the lawn.

Yeah I carry a microfiber cloth and Mother's Speed Shine for the same reason.

I don't necessarily detail my car, but I wax it every few months and clay bar it a few times a year. I do it all myself and it kills my back every time.

Don't you live hella far away now? I thought you moved out of your place in SJ.

I still have an apartment in SJ too because I still work here and this place actually has a garage.
