Speakers with serious performance ?

I've auditioned the Imagine T (1), and I wouldn't even pay $1K for them.

They sounded pretty good to me, but not great by any means.

I would take the Phil2 @$2K or Phil3 @$3K any day over most speakers.
A good speaker gets positive reviews from most if not all of the audio mags and sites reviewing them. The Imagine Ts garnered nothing but stellar reviews including Audioholics. Thank you for that insightful post.

As if any of your posts are any more insightful!

What is your insight? Speakers must sound great because magazines loved them? You are serious?

At least I have a lot more high quality speakers than you to compare.

Let us know when you get your Salon2, Orion, KEF Reference, & Phil3 in your room to compare to your PSB Imagine T speakers.

I would agree with your assessment if only one magazine reported them as being good but when Audioholics and the remaining industry reports them as being good, then just maybe they are. They have the measurements to back them up.

I'm not in your income bracket so I'll never be able to afford your toys. This doesn't mean however that Imagine isn't worth more than what you are willing to pay for. Its kind of sad really that you have to put in two cheap shots to justify your opinion.

Wow, seriously? lol. I haven't heard that speaker for quite a while, but I remember it being not bad and fairly priced.

Really, just because you have a line of poorly set up speakers in your room doesn't mean that you know what you're listening for, either.

And just because your ML are like +/-10dB (very accurate speakers BTW) doesn't mean you know anything.

My in-room measurements (those things that you're not quite sure how to do) of my properly set up speakers have always looked pretty good, actually. The price point of my gear says that I probably could've grabbed almost anything that I wanted and yet I ended up with this combo and have no desire to change it because it does exactly what I want it to do. Funny how that works, right? In any case, my preference for wall of sound style monster soundstage and imaging isn't everyone's preference and I know and understand that. Discounting the imagine series isn't fair, nor is thinking that your opinion is more important than 3db's because you have more speakers in your room. Frankly, your "stock list" makes you look like a fool that just buys stuff to talk about on the internet despite the fact that you believe that they all sound basically the same. lol

Every single critic raved about the Aperion flagship, including AH. Great measurements and all that. But Nuance and DenPureSound will both tell you that it ain't so. :D

It's fine if every magazine and critic like something. Doesn't mean anything unless the consumers like it.
That's why you posted this tidbit of information.

Everyone seems to totally love the Philharmonic speakers. If only Audioholics could review them."

Its funny how you waffle on your opinion because you bow to public pressure.

Last time I checked, it was okay for me to give an opinion about any speaker any time I feel like it.
Sure you can give your opinion as insightless as they are. At least I'm not ignorant enough to put down another's likes or dislikes, hence this needless exchange of words.

So if you feel like saying that my posts are "not insightful" or whatever, then so be it. Your opinion against mine.

What are you comparing the Imagine T to that is more "insightful" than me comparing them to my Salon2, Orion3, KEF Reference, and Phil3?

Oh, yeah, that's what I thought.
You thought what? That saying the Imagine Ts aren't even worth a grand? Its funny but I didn't see that comparison in your post. Just a put down. That's the insightful part I guess. ;)

BTW, I did't say all your posts weren't insightful.. just the put downs. A cheap shot is still a cheap shot and I didn't stoop to your level.

Oh, yeah, like we believe "YOUR" in-room response. Please spare us all.

The fact that you waste money on some inaccurate speakers makes you look like a fool. The P362 measures better than your ML. That is foolish.

Didn't they make some Bose speakers that had "big soundstage" too? :D

All my speakers are ultra accurate speakers.

I'm just buying speakers in anticipation for my next house with more dedicated rooms.

Yeah, I've listened to your big ML a few months ago. I thought my poor P362 sounded better. Just like how Sean Olive found that people actually preferred the P362 over the ML in the study that cost 4 times as much.

"My In-Room Response". That's a good one. :D
Alright, who hacked into ADTG's userid and makes these condescending posts?

I apologize for being a total jerk, but some people just have pushed my buttons once too many times and I'm letting the devil win for a few minutes. :D

Okay. Time up. Devil go away. :D

Dang, and he deleted the posts because he was ashamed by it!

ADTG: You haven't heard the big MLs. You've said it several times in several threads. Regardless, I don't care about your opinion of them whether you have or not. Whether you know it or not, you prefer similar presentation based on the fact that you have 2 pairs of dipole speakers. Dipole is probably a "bad" design for perfect accuracy any way you slice it.

Unfortunately, sometimes lines get crossed as we are all passionate about this hobby.
This is the truth. ADTG and I have had our own spats, but I never hold grudges. Sometimes we all just get too enthusiastic, but it's because we're so passionate about this hobby. Hate the sin (or the "act"), not the person. :)

After painting like Picaso Friday and Saturday, I was able to wire it up again Sunday evening. I fired it up without the mains just to ensure all video connections were in place and that the system would start up in the correct sequence from my programmable remote. All is good. I'm going to finish everything tonight moving the furniture in place, vacuum cleaning etc, and getting the mains wired back in again. Hopefully this weekend, I'll be able to scoot downtown and pick up a new turntable.

I was able to tidy up the speaker wire runs considerably by moving all the speaker runs behind the dry wall. I even brought out an ethernet cable to the back of my HT room should by receiver die out in the next two years.

I'll be back in business again by Wednesday.

Always cool to remodel, upgrade, improve, or even just tweak the HT room a little.....or a lot.

Sometimes I would redo the wires and make them cleaner, but my wife wouldn't understand that.

She would say, "What, you're playing with the wires again?"

Well, I watched the hockey game last night over the HT. The screen was rock solid with no artifacting. The receiver kept shutting itself off after flashing "check speaker connections" . I checked the wall panel and found two whisker shorts which I promptly removed and everything worked great after that. Its back and working for now. :)

Paradigm anyone ???

I've just come across Paradigm speakers, does anyone have any experience with these speakers on this forum ?

I've read some good things about Paradigm but want to hear from people who have compared them with other top performers.

Any idea how their reference speakers perform ?

Any constructive input will be appreciated
